I enjoy it when a student has the “Ah ha” moment and the light bulb comes on and the training topic clicks.

Meet Our Team: Firearms Industry Employee Questionnaire

Get to know the people behind the guns! We’re proud of our dedicated staff, and
we want to share a little about what makes them human, passionate, and
knowledgeable. Take a moment to learn more about our team members. Today’s Post is about Neel Burnett!

1. What inspired you to work in the firearms industry?

I always enjoyed shooting and the outdoors, so when the opportunity came for me to take some instructor
courses I jumped on it and haven’t looked back. I enjoy sharing my passion and skill set with others.

2. What’s your favorite firearm or accessory, and why?

Bolt Guns! There is something amazing about taking a round that you loaded, placing the round into a
precision rifle (IE Bolt Gun) and making a shot a long way away. It never gets old, hearing or seeing a steel plate ring puts a smile on your face every time. If not a bolt gun, I would say the Glock 19, it is a
simple reliable tool that just does the job. It may not be fancy, but it works!

3. What safety tip would you give to someone new to firearms?

Follow the four basic firearms safety rules every day. We own every round we fire; it is imperative that we
are safe every time we pull the trigger. Ask questions, if you are unsure, you are doing something safe ask a professional for help and advice.

4. What do you enjoy doing outside of work? Any hobbies or passions?

Camping and spending time outdoors hiking and hunting.

5. How do you stay informed about gun safety and the latest industry news?

I attend any training class I able to. Read a lot. Online forums, other vetted instructors, online outdoor /
shooting news sources. Always the student.

6. What’s a common myth about firearms that you’d like to clarify?

Silencers or suppressors do not make firearms completely silent, they do however make firearms hearing
safe. This is something “Hollywood” doesn’t portray accurately in a lot of films.

7. Describe your perfect day off.

The perfect mix of adventure and relaxation would be a good day hiking in the mountains with my wife
followed by cooking over and relaxing by a campfire.

8. What’s your favorite firearm-related quote or motto?

If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck. – Clint Smith
9. What’s one thing customers might be surprised to learn about you?

I enjoy reading, my favorite book is A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson.

10.  Why do you believe responsible gun ownership is important?

The right to firearm ownership is a fundamental liberty that the Founding Fathers deemed significant enough to include in the Constitution. It serves not only as a means of personal defense but as a critical
safeguard for the preservation of all other individual rights.

11. What’s your favorite part of working here at Red Ghost?

I enjoy it when a student has the “Ah ha” moment and the light bulb comes on and the training topic
clicks.

12. If you could educate the public about one aspect of firearms, what would it be?

Guns are not scary. They are a tool that are used many times each day to save lives.

13. Share a fun fact about yourself that your colleagues might not know.

As an Eagle Scout I never earned the rifle or shotgun shooting merit badges.
